The Oldest Language
In recent years, there has been a growing trend to learn sign language. ASL a.k.a. as American Sign Language is just one of two hundred (200+) signed languages in the world. Join us as we explore this fascinating language. At Palm Sign Language Ltd., we passionately believe that the more hearing people that know ASL, the easier it is for the Deaf to navigate a hearing world. Any Deaf person would agree with this foundation. Accessibility is everything.
Sign Language goes back to the beginning of time when people were signing (gesturing – obviously American Sign language did not exist then, it was just “sign language”, and yes, even before we were using voice, words and language.)This is why we make the distinction between ASL and SL.
Whether you are part of the essential services categories or any other service provider (fire, police, paramedic, health care, doctors, nurse, PSW, Long Term Care, Retirements living, educational system, skills training, security guards, housing, financial, leisure industry, dining entertainment) we can discuss how you can start learning ASL so we can be ready for any situation as it arises.
